HDPE Spigot Collar

HDPE Spigot Collar

Gamson manufactures high-performance HDPE Spigot Collars, also commonly referred to as Stub Ends. These fittings are the essential component used in conjunction with a metallic backing ring to create a flanged connection. The "spigot" refers to the long or short cylindrical end that is fused to the HDPE pipe, while the "collar" is the thickened shoulder that provides a sealing surface and a mechanical stop for the backing ring.

Key Features

  • Secure Flanged Interface: Provides a flat, serrated, or grooved sealing face that, when paired with a gasket, creates a high-pressure seal against valves, pumps, or other flanged pipes.
  • Moulded Structural Strength: Injection-moulded as a single piece to ensure the shoulder of the collar can withstand the high torque and compressive forces exerted by flange bolts.
  • PE100 High-Density Resin: Manufactured from virgin PE100 material, offering excellent long-term hydrostatic strength and resistance to chemical corrosion.
  • SDR Matching: Available in various Standard Dimension Ratios (SDR 11, 13.6, 17, 21, 26) to ensure a perfect internal diameter match with the pipe, preventing flow restriction or turbulence.
  • Versatile Joining: The spigot end is compatible with both Butt Fusion and Electrofusion (provided the neck is a Long Spigot version).

Primary Applications

  • Pump Stations: Transitioning from HDPE suction/delivery lines to the flanged inlets/outlets of water pumps.
  • Valve Installations: Integrating flanged gate valves, butterfly valves, or non-return valves into an HDPE pipeline.
  • Pipe Transitions: Connecting HDPE sections to existing ductile iron (DI), cast iron (CI), or steel flanged networks.
  • Tank Connections: Providing a bolting point for HDPE pipes entering or exiting storage tanks.
  • Dismantling Points: Creating removable sections in a pipeline for periodic maintenance or cleaning.
