Duct Coupler

The Gamson HDPE Duct Coupler is a high-performance mechanical fitting designed specifically to join two lengths of PLB Telecom Ducts. Its primary function is to provide a high-pressure, airtight, and watertight connection that can withstand the extreme internal air pressures used during the cable blowing process.

Installation Steps

  • Preparation: Use the Duct Cutter to make a clean, square cut on the duct ends.
  • Beveling: Use the Chamfering Tool to taper the outer edge of the duct. This prevents the sharp edge of the pipe from damaging the internal O-ring of the coupler.
  • Insertion: Push the duct firmly into the coupler until it hits the internal stop or center bridge.
  • Tightening: Tighten the compression nut by hand, followed by a half-turn with a Spanner to lock the grip ring in place.

  • Repair & Maintenance: Splicing new sections of duct into an existing line that has been damaged during excavation.
  • Extending Network Reach: Joining multiple 500m or 1000m coils to create a continuous path for long-haul fiber runs.
  • Transition Points: Connecting the main duct line to branch entries in manholes or handholes.
