HDPE Long Neck Pipe End
Gamson manufactures high-performance Long Neck Pipe Ends (also known as Long Spigot Flange Adaptors). Unlike the short neck versions, these feature an extended spigot length. This extra length is critical because it allows the fitting to be clamped securely in an Electrofusion machine or a Butt Fusion machine without the backing ring interfering with the clamps. These are the preferred choice for modern HDPE piping systems where versatility and ease of installation are priorities.
Key Features
- Extra Spigot Length: The extended neck provides ample space for the application of electrofusion couplers or for the clamps of a butt-fusion machine to grip the fitting firmly.
- Dual Joining Capability: Designed to be compatible with both Butt Fusion and Electrofusion joining methods.
- PE100 High-Density Resin: Produced from virgin PE100 material, ensuring superior resistance to environmental stress cracking and high internal pressures.
- Seamless Moulded Design: Injection-moulded as a single piece, providing uniform wall thickness and eliminating the structural weaknesses found in fabricated alternatives.
- Chemical & UV Stability: Naturally resistant to corrosive soil chemicals and ultraviolet radiation, making it suitable for both buried and exposed installations.

The "Long Neck" Advantage
- Electrofusion Compatibility: Standard short-neck adaptors cannot be used with electrofusion couplers because there isn't enough surface area for the coupler to sit on. The Long Neck version solves this, making it essential for repairs or tight-space connections.
- Ease of Fusion: The extra length ensures that the metal backing ring stays away from the heater plate and the fusion zone during the butt-fusion process, preventing temperature interference.
- Reduced Stress: The extended neck provides a slight degree of flexibility, which can help absorb minor mechanical vibrations at the connection point to a rigid valve or pump.
