Electrofusion Branch Saddle
The Gamson Electrofusion Branch Saddle is a specialized fitting used to create a branch connection on an existing HDPE main pipeline without cutting the pipe. Unlike a tee fitting, which requires the main line to be severed and joined at two points, the branch saddle is saddled over the pipe and fused to the outer surface. Once the fusion process is complete, the main pipe is tapped (drilled) through the saddle outlet to initiate flow.
Key Features
- Non-Invasive Branching: Allows for the addition of new service lines or secondary mains without the need to deconstruct or move the existing pipeline.
- Embedded Resistive Heating: The curved base of the saddle contains precision-wound heating coils that create a large-area molecular bond with the main pipe.
- High-Pressure Integrity: Engineered to maintain the full pressure rating of the main pipeline, typically available in PN 16 (SDR 11).
- Barcode Automated: Includes a standard barcode for automatic fusion parameter settings, ensuring high-quality welds regardless of site conditions.
- Visual Weld Indicators: Features pop-up pins that rise during the heating cycle to confirm that the expansion pressure for a successful weld has been reached.
